The
Boyd School of Irish Dancing is a relatively small Irish dancing school
based in Swindon, Wiltshire in the UK and run by Ian Boyd T.C.R.G. To find
out more about Ian, click

There are around 50 dancers ranging from complete beginners to Champion dancers, boys and girls from as young as 4, plus the adults have joined in with a Ceili class!.
The dancers take part in organised competitions ("Feiseanna") and displays throughout the year and have fun while keeping fit, building confidence and learning discipline.
Irish Dancing has grown in popularity over the last 13 years since Riverdance, a modern interpretation of traditional irish dancing, took the world by storm at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 (you can see a video of the 1994 performance if you click here).
One
of the past successes of the school is Oliver Gemoli who started dancing
with The Boyd School of Irish Dancing age 11, inspired by Riverdance, with
the ambition to "be a champion" - and went on to do just that before dancing
full time, touring the world with Riverdance, and the shows Lord of the
Dance and Rhythm of the Dance. For more

The Boyd School of Irish Dancing is registered with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, the largest of the governing bodies for irish dancing.
